Our mission is to:
• Advance the scientific knowledge of the development, plasticity, function, aging, and pathology of hearing and sound perception
• Translate the scientific discoveries into clinical treatments
• Facilitate the research synergy among basic and clinician-scientists members of the Center
• Facilitate the recruitment of new faculty with hearing- and sound perception-related research interests in the Center
• Train the next generation of scientists and clinician-scientists
• Provide current data-driven knowledge to physicians and patients and offer near-term treatment options for hearing-related disorders
• Educate the general public about hearing health and the benefits of biomedical research
• Facilitate the development of public, private, philanthropic and industry partnerships
• Promote diversity in academia and facilitate integration of persons with special needs into the research community
